Parting is such SWEET SORROW

We decided not to spend the night in Ohio but to get home as soon as possible. Andy and I both have to be at work on Monday and we really want to introduce the girls to Toby and see how they will be in their new home.
I feel we did the best we could during the day to help them prepare for their journey to their new home. The girls were harnessed as we weren't sure how they would react to collars and leashes. Pam and I attempted to take them for a walk but that wasn't happening. Vicki rolled over like, the fainting goats, and it was quite cute. Sandy just hid behind Pam and wasn't going to have any part of it. So, they just worn the harnesses for the day get acclimated to having them on.

The time has come. Were leaving and I know this isn't going to be easy for Pam. She took the girls in 1 yr ago and has been their savior since. Saying Good Bye can't be easy. Pam cried, we said our Good Byes and departed, but well talk tomorrow.

IT'S OFFICIAL!!

They are OFFICIALLY ours girls.

Pingping just couldn't wait to jump out of the car once we finally made it to the kennels. All she wanted to know is where are the girls. Pam took us on the guided tour and we met her foxes, skunks, cats and the dogs. Shibas, shibas every where, boy, did I feel like I was in Shiba heaven. They have got to be the cutest and most well mannered Shiba's I ever had the pleasure of meeting. A world of difference from my rambunctious Toby.

Just a few final preparations and we should be on the road tonight about 7:30pm. I plan on driving through the night so we can be there by the morning. Let's see how that goes.

At this point, I just want to get there to meet my girls.

Earth Angel

Pam is truly an Earth Angel. In speaking with her today, she has offered for us to stay in her 32ft trailor so that we don't have to pay for a hotel while Ohio. Bless her caring, loving soul.

OH My .....The Vet Supply Order

WOW!!! Talk about an order, everything from shots to dog crates. A tad more than what I expected to spend. I have included a few things to bring to Pam in a care package. How could I not, after all, she has invested plenty for the health and well being of Sandy & Vicki and is fore going the adoption fees. Pam certainly deserves a little something for all that she does done!

The Call !!

I tried several times this morning to contact Pam, but I am not getting any answer. I am so excited I could burst and I can't get a hold of her. Well. I better get to work and get some thing done today and just try again later.
Finally, I got her. I knew she would be excited and she is. We spend about an hour chatting on the phone. The confirmed pick up date will be August 25th. I wish it were sooner, but I must make preparations for 2 dogs and Pam isn't available for the other two weekends.
Pam is an ANGEL, and I am sure any animal in her care is happy to be with her. She has waived the adoption fee for both dogs and told me to put it towards gas, dog food , treats, leashes etc. With these gas prices and driving 12 hours to Moscow, Ohio with a big SUV, I certainly will need to fill up quite a few times. All in all, it should be a nice road trip and Pingping is so looking forward to bring home the sisters..

Tough Decision

After a long weekend, thinking through all the pros and cons, we decided to adopt the sisters. It was tough, considering every dog needs a good home and I have been in contact with the NYC Shiba Rescue for several weeks now.
In speaking with Pam, the girls have been with her for 1 year now. The girls need to have a forever home of their own and will be adopted together.
I am sure Pam will be excited when I call her tomorrow and tell we will be adopting both girls.

Decisions, decisions, decisions......hhhmmm?!

I spoke with Pam today, from Royal Kennels, she has two beautiful Shiba girls that need a home. It's possible that the girls are sisters.

I received an e-mail for the NYC Shiba Rescue to conduct a home visit as a part of the adoption procedure from them.

There are several factors that will play a part in making this decision. The biggest is being comfortable with accept 2 dogs at the same time. I don't know what to do now. For now, I will just think about it over the weekend, talk to my husband and get his prospective on thing.
